CAMARALENTA FILMS is a Colombian independent film production company founded in 2018 in Barranquilla by Laura C. Solano and Álvaro F. Pulpeiro.
Dynamic and always open to Ibero-American co-productions and with Europe of risky and collaborative projects, she bets on unconventional production structures where cinema is understood as something alive that goes far beyond the product.
After participating in internationally successful documentaries premiered at festivals such as the Edinburgh International Film Festival or FICX Gijón, as of 2018 CAMARALENTA leads the production of the feature-length documentary Un Cielo Tan Turbio (Álvaro F. Pulpeiro, 2021), the only Spanish-language production competing within the prestigious Danish festival CPH:DOX, where it sells the international distribution rights to Syndicado Film Sales. It was awarded Best Cinematography at Saratov (Russia), Audience Award at the Girona Festival, nominated for Best Spanish Director at SEFF (Seville), finalist for Best Cinematography at Millennium Docs Against Gravity, finalist for Best European Documentary at the Ethnocineca Docfest in Vienna, and makes up the competitive sections of other renowned international competitions such as IndieLisboa, Olhar de Cinema, DMZ Docs, DocsMX, etc. It has its premiere in Spanish commercial theaters with good reviews during March 2022, and will be in the catalog of NETFLIX Europe and other streaming platforms from the end of 2022.
CAMARALENTA is producing the Colombian documentary Verde Adentro (Mauricio Reyes Serrano), and since 2020 has been working with Spanish director Álvaro F. Pulpeiro developing his first fiction feature film.
